donna maree looks for the juxtaposition within the frame, she loves contrast. She enjoys bring attention to the unseen in subtle ways, sometimes not so subtle, initiating discourse. As a storyteller she believes that drama attracts attention, but sometimes a stunning aesthetic can be just as intriguing. 

After many years working within the beauty and fashion industries donna maree was inspired by the plethora of fashion and commercial photographers she had the privilege to work with, enough so that she picked up a digital camera and never looked back.

Ultimately, her process is about curiosity and discovery. She embraces what could be and evolves it into what can be. As a photographic artist donna maree specialises in fine art, and uses conceptual and abstract works to transcend her storytelling into multiple narratives.

While many of her images come from an exploration of the "other worldly" there is also an element of familiarity and relevance. She wants her work to not only be aesthetically pleasing but also emotive and thought-provoking. 

donna maree believes that the biggest gift an artist has is to be able to take the viewer away from their world, even just for a moment, where they can stop, take a breath...and simply imagine.
